Railyard Park Community Food Gardens

Grow Food with the Railyard Stewards!

The Railyard Stewards organize community food gardens and gardening workshops at Santa Fe’s lovely new Railyard Park!  Please contact us at info@railyardpark.org or call 505-982-6975 for more information.  You can be involved:

(1) Help at one of our community garden workdays (the first Saturdays of the month April – October), or attend a gardening workshop.  Workday dates are below (please note that morning start times will shift as the weather changes, we’ll keep you updated).  Meet at our storage shed near the parking lot behind SITE Santa Fe, or at the triangle garden at the south end of the park if you arrive after 10:00.

Saturday, June 12 - 10:00 a.m. – Noon

Saturday, July 10

Saturday, August 14

Saturday, September 11

Saturday, October 9

Robert Wood of the City of Santa Fe presents a workshop on pests without pesticides in 2009 at the individual plots community garden.

(2) Apply for an individual space to grow your own garden.

We donate food from communal spaces to food banks, while gardeners with individual plots grow food for their own use.  Spaces are 50 square feet, cost $15/growing season, and are allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Click on the  Community Garden Application and Agreement 2010 to apply!

The Railyard Stewards is an organization that provides innovative community programming, horticultural expertise and other resources to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Railyard Park + Plaza. Hundreds of Santa Fe residents, schools, businesses, gardeners, and other organizations are partnering with us to grow our newest community park.
