FALL MEANS FULL!

The Railyard Park gardens are in their full glory after a summer of growth.  The trumpet and lace vines are full of blooms and reaching the top of their ramadas, offering a promise of shady walkways next spring.  The food gardens are in full harvest season, with a wide variety of crops, including this year’s favorite eye-catcher, amaranth.  Come to a Stewards gardening day and see what is growing!

All events are open to the whole community, from beginners to gardening gurus.  Bring your favorite gloves and tools, or borrow ours, and don’t forget a water bottle and hat.  Meet at the Railyard Park performance green–the grassy slope near the train tracks.

Earlybirds Gardening Days

Fall Schedule:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 to 11 a.m.,  September through October. Railyard Stewards care for  the 125 different varieties of plants in the Railyard Park.    Come learn about high desert gardening while helping this innovative park look its best.  All are welcome!  Meet at the Railyard Park performance green.

Food Gardening: Second Saturday of the month,  September 11 & October 9, 9-11 a.m. Help harvest and maintain the community vegetable gardens.  Meet near the performance green, or if you arrive late come to the triangle-shaped garden at the south end of the park (near La Choza restaurant).
